About Amy
The person you will be working with.
As a licensed clinician specializing in mental health counseling for children and adolescents, Amy Brink brings over 15 years of experience as a former educator. She holds Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Spanish from Purdue University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Aurora University. Her passion lies in helping individuals, especially children, adolescents, and their families, discover joy, connection, and belonging so they can navigate life's challenges with integrity and authenticity.
Amy works with adults, children, and families to address family conflict, trauma, mood disorders, grief and loss, relational distress, life transitions, and stress management. She practices from a client centered, integrative framework, drawing on Attachment Theory, Family Systems Theory, and Ecological Systems Theory. She utilizes Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Adlerian Child and Family Play Therapy, often incorporating play to create a safe, non verbal way for younger children to express their emotions.
When working with children and adolescents, Amy prioritizes holistic, developmentally appropriate practices, tailoring her approach based on age, developmental stage, and specific needs. Her aim is to create a therapeutic alliance built on warmth, trust, and authenticity. To schedule an appointment, contact our intake team at (224)-241-2197.
